Mary Shustack shops around

The weekend’s bargain

Sometimes you see something so sweet you just have to have it. It’s usually a small thing, something you can’t leave behind and decide you’ll just have to find a use for.

That happened to me on Saturday at the Stormville Airport Antiques Show & Flea Market.

Sure, throughout the day, I bought some antiques, some costume jewelry, some new gloves and headbands.

But it was this little lady, peeking out of a bin of assorted dolls, that caught my eye.

She was $1 — so of course, I had to buy her. She’ll make a nice addition to my holiday decorating, as her elegant dress and mask will suit Halloween, New Year’s Eve and Mardi Gras displays!

Check back later today for a full report on Madelynrose, a Pearl River children’s boutique that’s as charming as this little doll — but much more practical!
