Holiday shopping for those you love

How perfect is this pillow for a sweet little Valentine’s Day present?

It’s $15 — and just one of the many things that caught my eye when I stopped by Wishes, a boutique that opened Dec. 1 in Yorktown Heights.

The shop is charming from the moment you see it. Don’t you agree?

I went to see what owners Debbie Zapakin and Lori Weil have gathered for Valentine’s Day gifts — but the trip also gave me the chance to check out the shop overall.

And it turns out the ladies, who had worked together before through a home-based children’s clothing business, have created quite a little haven for gifts and home accessories.

Of course, everything could be presented as a token of love, friendship, esteem, etc. for V-Day — but Wishes has focused on a few, featured on a table right near the door.

The rest of the shop, though, includes plenty of other options.

Here are some pretty soaps:

And then, there’s the jewelry, with some selections designed to appeal to the younger customers, such as these bracelets.

And you know I love a great bag. Here are two that I thought were especially attractive:

Even though the shop is on the cozy side, there is room for some very attractive vignettes. Here’s a quick look at some really pleasing displays:

I went camera-crazy — there was so much here. I’ll let you just scan some of the other things that you might like:

Whatever you pick, they’ll be sure to wrap it up for you as Zapakin did for a customer who was shopping during my visit.

And since you know I love a pun, I have to share this one final item:

While Valentine’s Day is taking the spotlight right now at Wishes, stop back in coming weeks as the mix is ever-evolving.

As Zapakin says: “We want to change it up a lot.”
