Drooling already

I know, I know, it’s kind of pathetic to get so excited over accessories.
But, I can’t help myself.
It happened again when a new catalog — a sneak peek at the new lines from the Christian Livingston Collection and Island Designs by Harry Haslett in Hawthorne — arrived for me earlier this week.
All I can say is: LOOK AT THIS BAG!!

I’ve shown the brochure with its picture around, and everyone agrees — it’s so me! (Ha).
I first met Haslett at a trade show in Manhattan and was pleased to hear his companies are local. Even nicer, it’s a family operation.
So, when this fall preview arrived, I sent him a quick e-mail to tell him how exciting everything looks, especially that bag.
Turns out I’m not the only one. It’s already proving to be their best-seller among the new pieces.
“Unfortunately,” the Hawthorne-based company is an importer and wholesaler which means they offer their goods to shops, boutiques and catalogs across the country, who in turn offer them to us. As of yet, there’s no way to buy direct — except for the sample sales.
Readers of the blog may remember my advance and day-of
postings about the most recent sample sale held at the companies’ headquarters back in the spring.
I’m hoping at the next sale — which is expected to be in October — will feature the likes of that bag and these other things from the new line:

And if not, we’ll just have to track them down in shops far and wide!

I’ll have to check out that sample sale in the fall, methinks….
We had a ball at the last one!
Just a quick update- I heard from Henrietta Porter of Christian Livingston and Island Designs by Harry Haslett this morning.
She wanted to let me know that anyone looking for the black bag (“the” one above) now should contact Indigo in Chappaqua.
Great news, right?
And one more update … was kind of disappointed that this fabulous bag wasn’t featured at the last Island warehouse sale (I know, let it enjoy its current season and all that)...
I did spot it a few weeks ago in Katonah… and considered snapping it up… but then decided no. Too many bags, could get it next year (maybe) at the sale,... etc.
But I was in Katonah again over the weekend- and when the woman in Weinstein Pharmacy told me it was the last one she had… you know the rest.
Using — and loving — it already!
