Fragrant find

I hope you had a chance to read my story in today’s Life & Style section — and here on LoHud.com — about Szent & Company in Larchmont.

The latest in our “shop of the week” series takes a look at what Janet Robinson of Larchmont and Barbara Truesdale, a Larchmont native now living in New Rochelle, have created.

The shop, which opened the first week in March, is a place to really… relax.

The shop is billed as an “apothecary and fragrance bar,” which means you can hang out and find out what scents you like best.

These — in essential and perfumed oils — can be bought “pure” or mixed into unscented products ranging from hand soap to body lotion to shampoo for a truly custom creation.

Take a look at some more pictures of the shop:

And then plan to visit — it’s at 1969 Palmer Ave. Call 914-834-1515.

The shop, I’m also told, will be staying open late on Saturday, as part of the “Larchmont Gallery Walk.”

The self-guided art tour includes opening receptions to new exhibits and special events throughout the downtown area. Pick up a map at participating shops, or call 914-840-4151 for more details.

Unfortunately, I’m heading out of town for a few days, so will miss the Gallery Walk.

I’ll be back here on Tuesday — so shop well without me.
