Mary Shustack shops around

Catching up with some fairy friends

One of the parts I enjoy about covering events from year to year is the chance to “check in” with people that I’ve written about before.

This morning at Crafts at Lyndhurst, it was all about that.

I once got to visit the Mamaroneck studio of Libby Denenberg, an artist I had first seen at a craft event in South Norwalk, Conn.

When I realized she was local, I kept an eye out for a chance to write about her.

Well, a previous edition of Crafts at Lyndhurst, which continues through Sunday in Tarrytown, gave me the opportunity.

Denenberg’s work, which she creates through her Wishflower Studio, is filled with whimsy.

Her mosaics are a celebration of fairies and fun, each piece a totally unique mosaic creation that incorporates bits of glass, mirrors and vintage china.

This morning, I took at peek at her newest work, which filled her booth to brimming:

Look closely at that last picture… or just see below. This piece just killed me!

If you can’t read it (sorry for the wobbly picture), here’s a close-up of the text:

Too funny.

Check back for more on our local exhibitors in a bit.
