Because of Susan Ullman, I didn’t freeze this morning.
When I was getting ready to head out to Crafts at Lyndhurst, I thought of the Ardsley collage artist.
I met Ullman a few years ago, writing a story about her unique work.
Last May, when I saw her at this show, she had gloves.
I did not.
Needed them again today — but this time I was prepared.
I wore my fingerless gloves, something that kept me warm but allowed me to take notes as I wandered among the 300 exhibitors at this crafts show (this afternoon I’m blogging on my visit with multiple posts).
Anyway, I saw Ullman soon after arriving, when I stopped for a warming cup of tea. I finally made my way to her booth after awhile, and we had the chance to catch up a bit.
As usual, she’s a whirlwind of activity — lots of shows, lots of work.
She’s got some 14 shows this year (a Web site’s on the way — I’ll let you know when that’s up and running).
And as she said, while it’s great to have a successful show, it presents a bit of a “problem.”
“You have to build up inventory, because if I have a good show, I deplete all my stuff.”
Here’s Ullman and her booth:

Check back in a few for more on the local exhibitors.
