Mary Shustack shops around

A dollar’s ‘worth’

May

I have a longtime friend who is a fiend for marshmallows.

And one of my sisters has taken to buying him any “novelty” marshmallow treat she comes across.

This time, I think she has truly topped herself — scoring points for both originality and frugality.

Drumroll, please….

Yes, an ant farm featuring marshmallow ants. Did you ever?

And wait, it gets even better.

Look at the additional features.

It’s educational:

And provides activities, too:

Not bad for $1… yet another of the quirky things carried by our local branch of The Dollar Tree.

You truly never know what you’ll find there — remember, after all, this is the place where I once saw — and didn’t buy — “Chef Mario’s Dining Disasters.”

But again, I think “Marshmallow Farms” has set a new standard.

What are some of the things you’ve found — and bought or passed on — at your local dollar store?
