Mary Shustack shops around

Destination: Suffern

June

If you’re a fan of the Suffern street fairs, you probably already know the 2008 season gets under way this weekend.

For those who have never been, it might be the perfect time to check it out — after all, an update from the Suffern Chamber of Commerce promises a “bigger and better” edition when the first is held this Sunday.

More than 100 artisans, artists, crafters and merchandise and food vendors are expected to line Lafayette Street in the heart of Suffern’s downtown shopping district.

The fair, to run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., features ample parking, free admission and will be held rain or shine.

There will also be music and other live entertainment throughout the day.

If you can’t make this one, Suffern’s street-fair season will continue with events Sept. 7 and Oct. 12.

For more details, call 845-357-8424 or visit the chamber’s site.
