Mary Shustack shops around

Something for Sunday

June
6

This promises to be a busy weekend, with outdoor activities really kicking into high gear.

And I have at least one, for sure, on my agenda — the Cold Spring Antiques Show on Sunday.

This is one of my favorite antiques shows, held in Mayor’s Park on Fair Street.

The show always has a nice mix of dealers, and years ago, I got one of my “most-treasured possessions” at this show. It’s a watercolor of an ocean scene that hangs by my bureau.

This time, some 60 dealers are expected to show off everything from furniture to jewelry, maps to vintage toys, lamps to china. There will also be antique tools, glass, period prints and cast-iron garden furniture and accessories.

Here’s a glimpse at a previous edition, in a photograph provided by show promoter David Cooke:

The show runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine.

Mayor’s Park is a few blocks from Main Street; take the walk or hop onto the free shuttle bus that will be making continuous loops throughout the area of the train station, downtown and the show.

Admission is $6, free for children.
