Mary Shustack shops around

“Save gas, shop local”

June
11

That catchy phrase was part of the latest update I got from Ginny & Ken Ryan.

The Ryans are behind Somers Custom Framing and The Gift Shop at Somers Custom Framing, which I’ve featured here before.

The update is filled with shopping news, which I’m going to pass along here:

— The gift-shop selection has recently expanded and now also includes Maggie B handbags, Lavender Spa accessories, Vera Bradley accessories and new choices for children (especially for camp) and baby gifts.

— Teacher’s gifts are plentiful, with many from $10 to $20. And as with all purchases, gift wrapping is free.

— 2008 graduates are invited to have those new diplomas framed. Gift certificates for the framing are also available.

— The shop’s 2008 Juried Photography Exhibit is set for July 18-26, with an opening event from 2 to 4 p.m. July 19. For more details on the show and how to submit work, visit the shop’s Web site, linked above.

Somers Custom Framing and The Gift Shop at Somers Custom Framing are at 253 Route 202. Call 914-276-3173.
