‘Soap’-y news

I hadn’t been by in a bit, so this morning’s e-mail caught me a little off guard.
I heard from Lisa Devogelear, who gave me an update on The Soap & Paper Factory.
Sadly, the Rockland-based company has closed its retail shop in Nyack. (I last wrote about it in June).
As expected, she says it was a bittersweet decision.
It was too much for the company to both manage the shop and make, package, market (and so many other things) out of their Garnerville headquarters.
But the company has also started yet another exciting chapter by relocating to Tappan into new studio space that Devogelear calls “ultimately a much better spot for us on so many levels.”
And one of those levels is the chance to sell retail from the new space. (The company does sell online — but it’s so fun to pick things out in person).
I’ll keep you posted on that front, and in the mean time, keep in mind that The Soap & Paper Factory will be participating in the holiday fair at Grand Central Terminal later this year.
So rest assured, you’ll be able to get your hands on their lovely soaps, body scrubs, creams, candles, stationery (and more), one way or another.
