It’s almost time for the last Casafina warehouse sale of the year — and this one sounds like it’s going to be memorable.
It’s going to run from Monday through Dec. 7, a full week, at Casafina in Brewster — and for the first time, the merchandise is going to be marked down another 50 percent off its lowest sale price.

It was just a couple of weeks ago that I stopped by to check out Suburban Groove in Bedford Hills.
The shop had moved from its original location, and I profiled the new space for my “Shop of the Week” feature.

I haven’t yet had the chance to get up to Mohegan Lake to see the new home of Shades of Green.
I’ve written about Myra Marsocci’s original spot in Peekskill a few times and knew she’d made a move.
The new spot is filled with even more eco-friendly choices for you, your friends, your home and your garden, and all profits from the eco shop go to support public beautification projects.
And keep in mind the third annual Thanksgiving Weekend Sale continues, with 10 percent off holiday greens through Sunday.
Shades of Green is now at 1949 E. Main St. (on the Tom Thumb campus, Route 6) in Mohegan Lake.
For more details, call 914-526-8470 or visit its Web site.

This marks the first weekend of extended holiday hours for Szent & Company.
If you remember, I first visited this Larchmont shop back in April.
Now I hear from Janet Robinson and Barbara Truesdale, the owners, that they’ll be open from noon to 5 p.m. Sundays beginning this weekend and extending Thursday hours to 8 p.m. (starting Dec. 11) throughout the holiday season.
Szent & Company’s at 1969 Palmer Ave.
Call 914-834-1515.

I’ve mentioned the sale dates before, but just a friendly reminder that the series of Anne Koplik Designer Showroom Sales are continuing.
The Brewster-based company is known for its vintage-inspired jewelry, all designed and made on the premises.
It’s sold to boutiques around the world — and since they’re right in our backyard, we get to take advantage of these sales a few times a year.

I’ve never been a big participant in Black Friday shopping, as I’ve mentioned here before.
I shop all year, gathering gifts “along the way,” and I really can’t stand the crowds and the mania of this day.
When I got in to work earlier this afternoon, after a few interviews for upcoming stories, my friend asked if I had heard about the man who was trampled to death at a Wal-Mart on Long Island earlier today.
I had not — but I’ve been reading about it all afternoon.
Unbelievably sad.
Incredibly sobering.
Your thoughts?

I’ve heard from Contact, the women’s boutique in Rye Brook, that its Black Friday sale is starting early — today, in fact.
Here are the details:

I just see that my colleague Jay Loomis has posted an update that the Steve & Barry’s will be closing in the Palisades Center in West Nyack.
Check it out.

I saw a commercial last night for a store opening at 4 a.m. on Friday.
Let the Black Friday-madness begin!
If you’d like another option, you could consider stopping by the Oasis Day Spa in Dobbs Ferry.
