A gala set for tonight

If you want a sneak peek at the Designer Show House on the Hudson, which officially opens its doors tomorrow, there’s a gala preview party planned for tonight.
The event, which features some 10 regional interior designers decorating the rooms of a $3.2 million Upper Grandview chateau, is serving as a benefit for Meals on Wheels Programs & Services of Rockland.
Not only is it a great place to get decorating ideas, all of what you see will also be for sale — you can buy everything from art work to tables, vases to chairs.
If you remember, I wrote about the show house last Friday when I got the chance to tour the place myself.
As promised, here are a few photographs taken by my friend and colleague Joe Larese.
(His pictures and my story on the show house, which continues through Feb. 8, will appear in tomorrow’s Life & Style section, as well as here on LoHud.com — and look for a video, too).
The property:
The dramatic view within the turret, which houses the staircase:
And this is Wendy Wallin of Kay Wallin Impeccable Designs of Upper Saddle River, N.J. She and her partner designed the living room:
And this is Jennifer Fox of August K. Fox Interiors of Grandview, the company doing the guest suite. I just loved this vignette:
And here’s a glimpse into the master suite, created by Melody Interiors of West Nyack:
There’s plenty more to see — I know I plan on going back to see it all in place, since the work was still under way when I visited.
To re-cap, the benefit, complete with wine-and-cheese reception, will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. tonight. Admission is $25.
The house will then be open for touring tomorrow through Feb. 8. The hours will be noon to 5 p.m. (except Mondays and Tuesdays, when it’s by appointment only). Admission, payable at the door, will be $10.
The property is at 9 Welles Lane.
