Style, on sale

January
16

Have you been to Lot84 in Mount Kisco?

I made my first visit to the shop back in September and wrote about it here.

Now, I’ve heard about its ongoing Home Accessories and Furniture Sale.

A morning’s daydreams

January
16

I’m back in the office after spending the morning in Upper Grandview.

But if you take a look at where I was, you’d be forgiven for thinking I had made a quick jaunt to a country chateau in the heart of Europe.

No, this is right in the heart of Rockland County,

Even more savings

January
14

I’ve been hearing from a number of our local stores with details of post-holiday or new-year sales.

And here’s yet another, from The Clothesline in New Rochelle.

Click here for a quick tour of the cute shop, which I profiled back in June.

I just got off the phone with Gina Nardella, who gave me an update on all she has going on.

Sweet scents

January
12

I’ve received an update from Gili Zilca, who owns Luisa New York.

I first visited her Pleasantville shop this past summer; click here to read about that day.

The shop, as you can see, is filled with scented products (and a few unscented). It features soaps and lotions, bath salts and creams.

Now, Luisa New York is filled with its special winter merchandise.

Super savings

January
9

With the temperatures set to dip this coming week, it’s a perfect time to check out the large selection of sweaters (and more) at Great Dames Boutique in Nyack.

I’ve written about Glenn Osonitsch’s shop before — and I have bought some fun things there over the past year or more.

Everyone I’ve taken there has also bought, whether it be funky skirts or cool sweaters.

He has a way of finding clothing that’s out-of-the-ordinary… in a really good way. I mean who wants to look like everyone else?

Anyway, I got an e-mail from Glenn today with news that I’m happy to pass along.

Closet envy

January
8

Goal: Getting my closet organized once and for all.

If I had a dime — a penny, even — for every time I’ve vowed to do this, let’s just say I’d be pretty rich by now.

Unfortunately, weekends come, weekends go… and the disarray continues. I’m not so much talking about throwing things away but rather getting it all organized — I need a way to see (then use) what I have.

So it was kind of inspiring to hear about The Container Store’s annual “30 percent off elfa Sale,” under way right now.

A flurry of savings

January
8

It was snowing so hard as I was just driving in to work — and now it looks like it never happened.

Oh well, that’s January and its wacky weather.

Another thing you can count on in January is sales.

I’ve just heard from Wishes in Yorktown Heights with a post-holiday message that includes details of its “January Sale Days.”

Giving peace a chance

January
7

What’s your idea of peace?

Is it a world without war — or a few quiet hours reflecting on your goals?

Brighton Collectibles just hopes that people are thinking about peace and to be sure, are giving a gentle nudge with a new bracelet designed around the concept.
