I had been checking on and off the past few months to see if the 2009 dates had been posted for the Stormville Airport Antique Show & Flea Market.
I guess I slacked off a bit… but was reminded of it today — and guess what? They are up there.
If you’ve been, you know the Dutchess County market is a fun destination for treasure hunting. Some days are stronger than others, but I’ve never gone and felt that it was a wasted trip.
Which is why I’m already transferring the schedule to my calendar.
Here are a few of my pictures from one of last year’s editions, to give you a feel for the place:
The 2009 shows will be held:
April 26 —”Springtime in the Country,” the traditional single-day kickoff.
Then it’s
May 23 and 24
July 4 and 5
Aug. 2 —”Summertime in the Country”
Sept. 5 and 6
Oct. 10 and 11
and Nov. 1 — the season-ending “Christmas in November.”
The market, if you’ve not been, features row after row of booths — antiques in one area, new merchandise in another.
It’s free parking, free admission, rain or shine — and usually a dawn-to-dusk affair.
