Mary Shustack shops around

While I’m away

March
6

As I mentioned, I’m out of the office next week so won’t be able to post shopping news here.

But… I’m going to leave you with plenty of tidbits to carry you over.

And feel free to add comments of things you’d like me to know, to follow up on when I get back.

First up, be sure to stop by Szent & Company in Larchmont tomorrow. The shop continues its first-anniversary celebration with a sale and refreshments. It’s at 1969 Palmer Ave. Call 914-834-1515.

Madelynrose, the children’s shop in Pearl River, at 38 E. Central Ave., is running a “buy one, get the second at half price” promotion on shoes through April 30. There are also discounts on spring styles, which continue to arrive every day. Call 845-735-3028.

Wishes Boutique at 315 Kear St. in Yorktown Heights, has its finds from the spring buyers’ markets arriving now. These include a leather tote with a peace sign, a collection of handcrafted earrings in sterling silver and some other fun slouchy handbags. Stop by to check it all out or call the shop at 914-962-9474.

Gunda Sabel-Sheehan of Field in Larchmont has sent along notice that her shop’s having a Spring-Cleaning White Sale, with up to 40 percent off a selection of white items including wool and felt textile wares, linens, ceramics, handbags and kids’ stuff. The sale continues all month. Stop by, at 2095 Boston Post Road or call 914-834-0601 for more details.

Ken and Ginny Ryan of Somers Custom Framing, at 253 Route 202 (914-276-3173), have sent out their March newsletter, which starts out on a sweet note. The couple thanks all its patrons and friends for continuing to shop locally — and reminds shoppers that each Saturday (and special weekday-occasions), there are complimentary homemade muffins and coffee on offer. Sign up for the store newlsletter to keep up on all the latest details of new merchandise, sales and special events.

Well, that’s it for now — I’ll be back in the office on March 16… surely with a shopping tale or two to share.

Until then, take care — and shop well.
