Way beyond a bargain

March
17

One of my sisters just called me to tell me she had heard about something called a “free store” down in the Wall Street area.

Apparently everything is … free.

Needless to say, I was intrigued Read more of this entry »

The new Whimsies

March
17

I’m just back from a trip over to Tarrytown to check out the new home of Whimsies Incognito.

The new, airy space at 35 S. Broadway marks owner Jacqueleen Golabek’s third home within Tarrytown — in 20 years.

She was five years at 8A Main St., followed by the last 15 at 52 Main St.

Now, she says, she’s begun “a new life on Broadway.” Read more of this entry »

Lynn Puro of March, the boutique in Briarcliff Manor, invites shoppers to “go green” this weekend.

The focus this Saturday and Sunday will be “Think Green For Spring,” with eco-friendly fashions and accessories in the spotlight from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. both days.

Puro and staff will be on hand to offer advice about spring looks that not only look great but are safe for the environment. Read more of this entry »

March

The first day is always crowded.

But it’s also exciting.

I’m talking about the seasonal sales at Fairground Attraction in Mount Kisco.

And tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. is the start of the Spring Sale at this longtime destination for great-looking home goods and personal accessories. Read more of this entry »

Pop… goes the sale

March
16

It was just about a month ago that I featured Pop Vintage, a really fun shop in Bedford Hills.

You may remember reading about it here.

Well, I’ve heard that the boutique is in the midst of its “Huge Storewide End-of-Winter Sale.”

But… I’m going to leave you with plenty of tidbits to carry you over.

And feel free to add comments of things you’d like me to know, to follow up on when I get back.

Ready for spring

March
6

I’ve been writing here about my spring-fashion story, which should also run next week while I’m away.

It was really fun to check in with a handful of our local shops to see what they’re suggesting.

They are fully aware that we’re all ready to buy for spring — but might not have the budgets we once did. Read more of this entry »
