Savings on books

April

I got to catch up on a bit of reading during my week off.

I have to admit I’m more of a library person rather than one who buys a lot of books — but there’s an event that might just change my mind.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art Bookshop is holding its first-ever warehouse book sale.

The event kicks off tomorrow and continues through May 10 in Manhattan.

The sale is set to feature more than 150 titles ranging from exhibition catalogs to picture books to books about the collection, all published by the Metropolitan Museum.

Special bargain tables will feature selections starting at $5, with discounts at up to 90 percent off the publisher’s original list price for select titles.

So, if you’re in the city in the next week or two, you might want to check this all out.

It will be held in the museum’s second-floor shop. (Enter through the bookshop and take the elevator to the second floor).

The sale hours will follow those of the museum:

9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday; and 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday (note the museum is closed this coming Monday).

The museum is at 1000 Fifth Ave. (at 82nd Street).

And if you like reading, don’t forget to stop by our books blog, Book by Book.
