Mary Shustack shops around

A gem of an event

Contact, the women’s clothing and accessories boutique in Rye Brook, is holding a jewelry-related event next week.

And as a big (big!) jewelry lover, I have to say it sounds like a really clever idea.

Jewelry designer Alana Norell will be at the boutique Tuesday through May 7 to launch her “revamp” branch.

Basically, she will help women turn their antique or old jewelry into a new piece.

For the event, women are encouraged to go through their jewelry to identify things they no longer wear.

Bring them to Contact, and Norell will give suggestions on how to transform them into new — wearable — pieces … all “without breaking the bank.”

In addition, Norell will be showcasing her latest one-of-a-kind creations that feature a variety of metals and gemstones.

For more details on the event, give a call to Contact (at 120 S. Ridge St. in the Rye Ridge plaza) at 914-481-1910.
