Mary Shustack shops around

Shop Nyack

April
30

I realize that a few of the shopping items I wanted to share with you today are all related to Nyack, so I figured I’d just group them together for those of you who love to “shop local.”

First up, just checked in with Chris Nelson, the owner of a “new” shop that’s joined the Main Street mix.

You probably know him from Lifestyle Jeans, which was on Park Street. (Click here for a look back to when I visited the shop).

About three weeks ago, Nelson took up residence at 95 Main St., with his revamped shop, The Denim Bar.

The shop continues to offer all kinds of jeans and casual wear, with personal service being a priority — where else can you get free 20-minute alterations?

The shop, Nelson tells me, has been doing really well since the move — and he’s participating in the sidewalk sale set for Saturday in the village.

Nelson says he’s going to be spotlighting jeans, T-shirts and shorts, all things ideal for the warmer weather that should come back one of these days.

Stop by Saturday (or any Tuesday through Sunday). Call 845-353-3442.

Maria Luisa Whittingham has also let me know she’s participating in the Nyack sidewalk sale on Saturday.

Stop by both Maria Luisa, at 14 S. Broadway (845-353-4122), and ML Gifts & Accessories, at 75 S. Broadway (845-358-1293) to see the latest clothing, accessories, jewelry, gifts, footwear and baby gifts.

If you’re in Nyack, you may also want to feather out into the residential areas, since those sales above are actually part of the inaugural Village-Wide Yard & Sidewalk Sale.

There’s going to be live music in the Veterans Park gazebo, too.

And finally, check out Handcrafted by LaMar online. I wrote about La-Mar Lynch and his hand-crafted greeting cards earlier this year. The Nyack man’s got a lot of new things going on, including offering TeddyCards (a teddy bear-and-gift package).
