Mary Shustack shops around

For the ladies

May

Have you heard about the “Ladies Night Out” event planned for Thursday in Nyack?

It sounds like a lot of fun — and like a lot of the local shops are participating.

I got the news from Marie Somos of Somos Designer Jewelry Gallery on South Broadway, telling how this inaugural event will feature more than 20 stores staying open late and many offering “one-night-only” discounts.

At Somos, for example, shoppers will save 15 percent and receive a free gift with any purchase during the special event.

The participating shops will also be giving out discount cards to be used this summer.

I’ve also heard from Glenn Osonitsch of Great Dames Boutique — he’s staying open til 9 on Thursday and his current sale (all clothing 50 percent off original price) is continuing.

Other shops expected to participate include Eileen Fisher, ML Gifts & Accessories, Christopher’s, Maya the Psychic Reader, Chocolaterie and Juliet Stewart.

Check it out… I just might have to!

(And I’ll add any updates I hear, so stay tuned).

The latest from Marie Somos is that now more than 35 Nyack businesses are expected to participate.

Look for the purple and pink balloons in front of each participating establishment.
