Have you heard about the “Ladies Night Out” event planned for Thursday in Nyack?
It sounds like a lot of fun — and like a lot of the local shops are participating. Read more of this entry »
Just got this in from Wishes, the boutique in Yorktown Heights:

The event will be held May 23-25 at the Nassau County Museum of Art in Roslyn Harbor on Long Island.
Expected to exhibit are two local artists, Davide Jagger Shapiro of Chestnut Ridge, who specializes in sterling silver jewelry; and Susan Ullman of Ardsley, a mixed-media collage artist.
For more details, visit the show’s Web site or call 973-746-0091.
I’m off tomorrow, taking a one-day vacation in search of antiques.
Maybe I’ll find something valuable… hey, it could happen.
If you’ve ever wondered if something you bought at an antiques show, flea market or garage sale — or even something long owned by your family — is valuable, there’s a local event that might just help you find out.

I’ve heard about another special event planned by AprilMarin.

I was away for a few days earlier this month, so I didn’t get a chance to visit Crafts at Lyndhurst.
The show, held twice a year in Tarrytown, is always a great place to find one-of-a-kind creations ranging from jewelry to bags to home furnishings to works of art.
Loretta Lam, a Carmel-based artist who works in polymer clay, was exhibiting — and showing off some new work.
I’ve heard from Lam that she’s just launched her re-designed Web site.
It includes an online gallery showcasing her current work. You can also find a schedule events, biographical details and information on where to buy her creations.
