Mary Shustack shops around

On the move

July
1

I decided to take a quick drive over to Port Chester, since I had heard that one of my go-to shops for frames, fantastic stationery and all kinds of art supplies was moving.

No need to panic, though, since A.I. Friedman is indeed moving but just a few doors down in the same plaza.

From here, at 431 Boston Post Road (You can see the start has been made; the building lettering’s already gone):

To here,

The shop, a real destination for art lovers, crafters and those like me who are die-hard letter writers, is taking over a larger space, one last occupied by Linens ‘N Things.

The new address will be 495 Boston Post Road.

I hear the move will come later this summer, so stay tuned.

In the mean time, stop by the shop where a moving sale continues — I saw frames at 50 percent off, home-decoratives at 40 percent off — and there are plenty of clearance items scattered throughout the shop.

I stocked up on a few boxes of gorgeous notecards at amazing savings; this box was $19.95 but marked down to $6.99:

Who knows? Maybe they’ll even have an “opening sale” in the new place!

A.I. Friedman is at 914-937-7351.

Thanks for the update, Mary. Any idea what’s coming to the former A.I. Friedman site?

    Hi, Tangie-
Thanks for stopping by—I haven’t heard a confirmation yet- but when I do, I’ll be sure to pass it along.
