Great Custom Framing News

We are very proud to announce that Somers Custom Framing has won Westchester Magazine’s prestigious ”Best of Westchester” award for the “Best Place to Frame (or Buy) Art in Westchester County”.  The article write-up about our store can be found on page 97 in the July 2009 “Best of Westchester” issue or by clicking this link to their on-line review; we are the 2nd listing on this page.  We are honored to have achieved this award and we would like to say “Thank You” to our loyal customers and friends!

We will be displaying at Westchester Magazine’s famous Best of Westchester Party on July 15th at the Glen Island Harbor Club in New Rochelle.  With the anticipated 3,000 – 5,000 people in attendance at this annual bash – all able to taste, feel and see the best Westchester has to offer – we look forward to seeing our friends and meeting new ones!  Tickets for this party is available on-line at www.westchestermagazine.com

Printing News

We just completed a wall mural which exceeded 200 square feet in total size for a new restaurant opening in Virginia.  We custom print our wall murals on  an adhesive backed fabric called Phototex.  The printed fabric has a mild adhesive backing that sticks to any surface.  This product is amazingly versatile, with a variety of applications.  It is removeable and reusable and very easy to apply or change positions on a wall or billboard.  No special installer needed.  You can put this on the wall yourself.  The rolls are 3 1/2 feet wide and can be printed as long as you like.  You simply place the 3 1/2 foot sheets side by side as you would sheets of wallpaper, and you can cover an entire wall regardless of size.  Because we print with fade resistant pigment inks, the finished product can be used indoors or outdoors.

Together with restaurant consultant Bonnie Saran, we designed (5) five 9 foot high by 2 1/2 foot wide Bollywood Film Industry themed billboards, a 6 foot wide by 4 foot high billboard and a 5 1/2 foot high by 13 foot wide mural.  The atmosphere these prints create for the diners will be fantastic – and at a much more affordable and time-saving rate than a traditional hand painted mural or faux finish painting.  We will post the pictures of this mural onto our website once the restaurant has officially opened.

This Photo-tex product is great for home use.  Just email us the images you want and we will blow them up and print any size you like.  Great for murals in any room.  Or blow-up action shots of the kids playing their favorite sport and hang in their bedroom or playroom.  Print smaller pictures for refrigerators or walls where you do not want to put nail holes.

Bonnie Saran is the consultant we worked with on the restaurant printing job.  She has been creating large-scale stage and restaurant designs in both India and America for 15+ years.  She has been instrumental in the opening of and development of over 6 successful restaurants and stores in America in the last 7 years alone.  In addition to set-design, Ms. Saran offers her customers a variety of cost-cutting options – from tabletop to linens, furniture, food, budget analysis and outlook, decor and more.  If you are interested in creating or changing the decor in your commercial space or would like to investigate stream-lined cost saving options for your restaurant, contact Somers Custom Framing and we will gladly get you in touch with Ms. Bonnie Saran.

Gift News

During the summer months, new antiques arrive at our Gift Store weekly.  Our antique plates, bowls, glasses, etc. make beautiful host/dinner party gifts – they are unique, beautiful and very affordable.  Going to a barbecue?  Don’t go empty handed!  Let us create a great gift basket of Tate’s Bake Shop cookies, Chippers, Cocktail napkins or other Great Summer Tabletop items - a classy look created for under $10, $15 or $20.
